Chito-Ryu symbol represents a Karate style, founded by Okinawan master Tsuyoshi Chitose at the beginning of the 20th century. As compared to other Japanese karate styles, Chito-Ryu is characterized by fluid movements, high stances, fast body rotation, selective muscle straining, and emphasis on punching technique. Chito-Ryu necklace is comprised of four elements. The outer circle stands for the sacred mirror Yata no Kagami, a sign of wisdom and honesty. The red disk in the middle represents the sun, the central element of Japanese culture (which is also present on the state flag of the country). Japanese hieroglyphs around it can be read as “Chito-Ryu Karate-Do”. Finally, the lines inside the circle symbolize hands. They mean that this karate style allows a person to learn their way through martial arts and physical training.
